About the Job

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing financial insights and projections to guide the company's strategic planning and decision-making. This role involves analyzing financial data, creating forecasts, and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer and senior management to optimize performance and growth.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Financial Modeling & Forecasting: Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning.

  • Budgeting: Coordinate the annual budgeting process, including variance analysis and reporting.

  • Performance Analysis: Analyze financial and operational performance, identifying trends and providing actionable recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.

  • Data Analysis: Gather, analyze, and interpret financial data to inform management decisions.

  • Reporting: Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including key metrics, dashboards, and variance analysis.

  • Scenario Planning: Conduct sensitivity analyses and scenario modeling to assess the impact of business decisions.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the finance and accounting team, underwriters, and senior leadership to align financial goals with operational strategies.

  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Support special projects, including securitization, note sales, capital raising, and market analysis.

     

Skills and Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CFA a plus).

  • 2-5 years of experience in financial planning & analysis, investment banking, corporate finance, or a related role.

  • Knowledge or experience in the mortgage industry preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial modeling is essential.

  • Experience with financial reporting tools and ERP systems (e.g., MS Dynamics) is a plus.

  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to roll sleeves up and help out colleagues on disparate projects when needed

Rain City Capital offers a hybrid work environment, which means employees perform their duties remotely or in person and will be expected to check email, phone, and text messages throughout the day and respond in a timely fashion consistent with a normal company workday. This role must be willing to commute to our local office on a weekly basis, at a minimum of once per week, based on the needs of the position, the department, and the company workday.
